About

> I'm Igor Rankovic, a senior systems administrator based in Belgrade, Serbia, with 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure. My background spans enterprise environments — virtualization, endpoint security, storage, and Microsoft ecosystems at scale — across organizations with thousands of users and multi-datacenter setups.

Outside of the enterprise world, I spent a decade as a professional photographer — weddings, corporate events, commercial work. That chapter is behind me, but it left a sharp eye for detail that carries over into everything I build.

IgorLab is the home side of that obsession. What started as a single-node experiment is now a 7-node Kubernetes cluster, TrueNAS storage, OPNsense firewall, a full monitoring stack, a local AI inference setup — and a 4-printer Bambu Lab farm named after Stranger Things characters, because why not.

The lab runs 24/7, serves the whole family, and breaks in endlessly interesting ways. This site documents the journey — the builds, the lessons, and what's possible with consumer hardware and open-source software.
